Argon PALOMA 8502 wall light – ribbed opal glass, brushed brass

Argon PALOMA 8502 is a wall light with a spherical shade in matt, ribbed opal glass and a brushed-brass arm. Its white globe stands forward of a circular wall plate, while the vertical ribbing gives the glass a texture that remains visible when the light is off. This is the opal-glass version, rather than the smoked or honey-coloured alternatives.

Choose the globe position at installation

The manufacturer permits mounting with the shade above or below the arm. This lets you decide where the globe sits in relation to the wall connection before installation. It does not mean that the arm swivels or that the position can be adjusted while the light is in use. For a pair beside a bed, plan the orientation of both fittings together.

The fitting measures 20.5 cm high, 12 cm wide and 19 cm deep. Depth deserves particular attention in a hallway or corridor, because the globe projects into the space in front of the wall. Compare that projection with the available passage and the opening arc of nearby doors. In a living room, bedroom or dining room, the wall-mounted format provides an additional light point without taking up space on a cabinet or bedside table.

A replaceable E14 LED bulb

One E14 LED bulb rated at no more than 7 W is required and must be purchased separately. The instructions limit bulb size to 45 mm in diameter and 80 mm in height, so the correct socket alone does not establish fit. The fitting operates at 230 V. Brightness and colour temperature depend on the bulb you choose; white glass does not by itself specify a warm or cool light colour. The matt opal shade diffuses the light and screens the bulb from direct view.

Dimming requires a suitable dimmable LED bulb and a compatible dimmer. The fitting has no built-in dimmer, so check the proposed control system as well as the bulb's socket type before buying.

Brass and textured white glass

The globe and uncomplicated arm combine geometric restraint with a decorative surface. White opal glass and the golden appearance of brushed brass suit classic, modern classic and glamour interiors. When coordinating other PALOMA lights, match the actual glass colour and brass finish, rather than relying on the family name alone: the collection includes visibly different glass versions.
