Berlin 617BL Outdoor Wall Light LED 8W 3000K Black RAL 9005 - Norlys

Berlin 617BL is an outdoor Norlys wall light in the form of a round 27 cm plafond that projects 14 cm from the wall. The black (RAL 9005) powder-coated cast aluminium body turns into a visor that covers the upper part of the opal, UV-stabilised polycarbonate diffuser.

What light it gives

The integrated LED module gives 3000 K, a warm white. The luminaire delivers 185 lm from 8 W — soft, diffused light to mark an entrance, steps or a stretch of facade rather than task lighting. The visor directs it mainly downwards, onto the wall and the ground below. Colour rendering is CRI 80.

The wall light is phase-dimmable and works with both leading-edge (LE) and trailing-edge (TE) dimmers, so it suits most phase dimmers. The LED module is replaced by a professional service — Norlys stocks a service kit for this luminaire, so a failed light source does not mean replacing the whole fitting.

Mounting and connection

The luminaire is screwed to the wall through two ø4.2 mm holes spaced 155 × 40 mm. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and further fittings can be looped through with up to 3 × 1.5 mm², so several wall lights on one facade can run from one circuit. The supply cable should be round-sheathed, 7 to 10.5 mm in diameter.

This is a protection class I luminaire, so it must be connected to a protective earth conductor. It weighs 2 kg.

Where it fits

The IP54 rating means protection against dust and splashing water from any direction, so the light can hang on an exterior wall. The IK10 impact rating means a housing that withstands strong mechanical impacts — useful by entrances and wherever the light hangs low. The plain round form with a visor follows a Scandinavian style and suits gardens, balconies and the entrances of hotels and restaurants. The same luminaire is also available in white (617WH).
