Etcher Large Pendant Light - 2 Light Sources - Champagne Bronze Elstead

The large Etcher pendant from Kichler, finished entirely in Champagne Bronze — a light, warm metal somewhere between gold and beige. The shade is a long cone narrowing towards the top, like a champagne bucket; riveted straps run down its length, and an etched white glass diffuser closes it underneath.

Dimensions and suspension

The shade is 45.7 cm in diameter and the fitting is 57.2 cm high with its yoke; it weighs 5.5 kg. It hangs on a 182.9 cm chain of square-section links in the same finish as the shade. The chain is shortened during installation, and the overall drop can be set anywhere from 67.2 cm to 250.2 cm.

A useful benchmark is a 40 cm shade, which looks right over an 80–90 cm wide table — the almost 46 cm of this model is better paired with a wider top. The manufacturer names the kitchen as its setting. It is a Class I fitting and is wired with an earth conductor.

Light sources

The pendant has two E27 sockets, each for a bulb of up to 60 W; the bulbs must be bought separately. The metal shade lets no light through, so all of it comes out of the bottom through the etched glass, which diffuses it and conceals the bulbs. With dimmable bulbs the fitting can go on a dimmer.
