Italux Merto Gold Glass E14 Wall Light WL-40930-1A-GD

Italux Merto WL-40930-1A-GD is a gold wall light screened by upright rods of clear glass. The rods form a rounded front held by a metal band, with a single bulb visible behind them. The fitting is made from metal alloy and glass: gold describes its finish, not a solid-gold or brass construction.

Choose the bulb for its appearance as well as its light

The light has one E14 socket and is supplied without a bulb. Italux allows a conventional or LED bulb rated at no more than 40 W. This is the lamp's maximum bulb rating, not a fixed power consumption. For an LED bulb, compare its actual wattage rather than the equivalent incandescent wattage printed on the packaging.

The clear glass screen leaves the light source visible rather than concealing it behind an opaque shade. Bulb shape, brightness and light colour therefore deserve consideration alongside the socket size. The illuminated photograph shows one possible combination, not a built-in colour temperature. Dimming is possible with a suitable light source; any planned dimming control must also be compatible with that bulb.

A 22 cm wall fitting

The manufacturer's dimensions are 22 cm high, 16 cm wide and 9 cm long. Compare these measurements with the available wall area, power connection and nearby furniture or opening doors before installation. Wall mounting leaves a table surface clear, but the projecting glass screen still needs sufficient space.

Plan Merto as supplementary lighting in a living room, bedroom, dining room, hallway or hotel corridor. It does not have the articulated arm of a directional reading light. The brightness of the finished lighting arrangement will depend on the chosen bulb and the other fittings in the room.

Vertical glass and a curved gold band

The repeated upright rods and rounded band combine a modern geometric outline with the decorative character of glamour and Art Deco interiors. They can introduce a glass-and-metal detail alongside simple furniture, or repeat an existing gold finish without adding a fabric lampshade.
