The Lofoten 1940CB is an outdoor wall light shaped as a box lantern: a steel frame with clear safety-glass panes at the front and sides, and an exposed lampholder for the bulb inside. The frame is powder-coated in copper brown.
Dimensions and wall mounting
The light is 30 cm tall, 19 cm wide and projects 11 cm from the wall — figures to compare with the wall space beside the door or the section of facade where it will hang. It weighs 2.89 kg net.
It is screwed to the wall through three ø5 mm holes spaced 80 × 105 mm apart. The round-sheathed supply cable, 7–10.5 mm in diameter, enters through an EPDM gland to terminals for up to 2 × 2.5 mm²; the light can also be looped to feed another one, with conductors up to 2 × 1.5 mm². Because this is mains-voltage work, installation should be done by an electrician.
Bulb and the kind of light
The fitting has an E27 socket and takes an A55–A60 shaped bulb, LED up to 11 W. The bulb is not included, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself — by a front door, warm white at 2700–3000 K is the usual choice. The user changes the bulb.
The panes are clear and the light is unshielded, so the bulb stays in view and its shape decides how the lantern looks after dark — a decorative filament will be plainly visible here. The fitting is protection class II, so it needs no earth conductor.
Where it is used
The IP44 rating means protection against water splashed from any direction, so the light can hang on an exterior wall. The joints are sealed with a silicone gasket. Norlys intends it for lighting terraces, entrances and gazebos.
The form is classic and plain: a smooth frame with no ornament and large glazed panels. Lofoten is an extensive Norlys family — besides wall lights it includes bollard, post and ceiling lights, so an entrance, a path and a terrace can be lit with fittings from one series.
