aria is an aluminium LED profile with a rectangular 32.1 × 14.4 mm section, finished in lacquered Reed Green RAL 6013. This piece is 1 m long; the maker cuts the same profile at 2.02 m and 3 m as well. It mounts on the surface of a ceiling or wall, or hangs on suspensions, and the light leaves perpendicular to the base.

What has to be bought alongside

This is the profile on its own. No cover, no end caps, no LED strip and no driver are included — all four are separate items. The cover intended for aria is the midi Fractal in clear, opal and black, and end caps come in the same Reed Green, in plastic and in aluminium.

The driver does not fit inside the profile — the maker places it outside, so the installation has to have somewhere for it, in a suspended ceiling or a cabinet for instance.

What strip it takes

The channel is sized for two 12 mm LED strips laid side by side. Two rows of diodes give more light from one run than a single strip, which is why the maker aims aria at main lighting rather than decorative light alone. The thicker profile base is, by the maker's account, there to carry heat away and so extend the strip's life.

Mounting and joining runs

The profile is fixed with a screw, a suspension, a spring or a bracket. The holes in the base are countersunk, so screw heads sit flush with the floor of the profile and do not foul the strip. Runs can be joined: there are straight connectors, 90°, 120° and 135° corners, a cross corner and a triple 3 × 120°, so straight pieces can be built into a closed frame or a broken line.

As sold the profile is not sealed, which corresponds to IP20. The maker offers a separate sealing kit that takes the assembly to IP68. The profile is not rated to be driven over, so it is not for a trafficked floor.
