Crystal with a large, architectural cut
The shades are traditional clear crystal with large faceting. The distinction matters: a fine cut scatters light into hundreds of tiny reflections and produces a "sparkle", whereas large facets break light into a few distinct, sharp patches that travel across the wall as the viewer moves.
In practice that means a fitting with strong character after dark – but also one that draws reflections onto ceiling and walls. Over a dining table that is the intention; in a low room with a pale ceiling it is worth anticipating.
Art deco in a contemporary reading
The manufacturer places the Flare series in the Neoclassic collection and describes its intent as combining two moods: the festive, elegant atmosphere of art deco and a bold, contemporary spirit. The latter comes from the massive crystal edges, which avoid reading as a 1920s pastiche.
The gold frame is the element that ties it together: it underlines the warm tone of the crystal and makes the fitting read as a whole rather than as glass parts on metal.
Height adjustment on the chain
The chandelier hangs on a 100 cm chain, so the overall height can be set between 68.7 and 154.2 cm – over 85 cm of range.
That gives two different installations. Shortened to minimum, it fits a flat of standard height as the central fitting in a living room. Extended to the full 154 cm, it works over a table in a room with a high ceiling or in a hall – where a conventional chandelier stays too high to read as part of the room.
Six E14 lamps and no dimming
The fitting has six E14 sockets rated to 40 W each. The manufacturer is unambiguous: it is not dimmable – there is no control gear and connection to a dimmer is not envisaged.
That bears on lamp choice: if it cannot be dimmed, the brightness level is set once, by the lamps you fit. Over a table, 4–6 W LEDs at 2700 K work well; with crystal shades, filament lamps are worth the money because their shape is visible through the glass.
Weight – check this before installing
The chandelier weighs 14.97 kg net. That is substantial – not a fitting for an ordinary hook in plasterboard. The fixing point must reach the structural ceiling or the supporting frame of a suspended ceiling; on timber ceilings, choose a screw into a joist.
The canopy is 11.5 cm across and 7 cm deep, so it covers a standard installation box.
