Nordlux Stake 2110360103 is a black recessed downlight with a set-back LED source and a broad circular rim. The dark surround frames the light rather than introducing a suspended fitting into the room. Its plastic and metal construction has a restrained outline suited to modern, modernist and minimalist interiors.
Check the ceiling void, not just the fitting height
The visible diameter is 8.8 cm and the fitting itself is 5.3 cm high. Installation needs more than that body measurement: the instructions specify at least 6.3 cm of clearance above the ceiling. They also show a 72–76 mm cut-out, a ceiling board thickness of 5–20 mm, a minimum 230 mm gap to a side obstruction and 460 mm between fittings.
A separate driver and connector block are included and must be accommodated in the ceiling void. The fitting has a 14 cm cable. Stake must not be covered with thermal insulation, so checking the ceiling construction is an important part of choosing its position, even though the visible trim is small.
Warm light with external dimming
The integrated, non-replaceable LED module consumes 6.1 W and provides 450 lm at 2700 K. Its 36° beam supports a layout of individual light points rather than making a single fitting a substitute for broad illumination throughout a room. The manufacturer describes a design that limits the direct view of the light source.
Brightness can be adjusted continuously using a compatible external wall dimmer. Parallel connection is possible for up to 15 downlights in accordance with the instructions. Required spacing and clearance still apply when several fittings form one installation.
A defined black detail
The recessed format can be considered for living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens, dining areas, entrance halls and corridors, as well as hotel and restaurant interiors. Room layout and the intended lighting task determine the number of fittings. Against a pale ceiling, the black ring remains a visible graphic detail without the extra forms of a decorative pendant.
