Nori 6 Light Chandelier - Dark Weathered Zinc Elstead

Nori is a six-light chandelier by Generation Lighting (Feiss), distributed by Elstead Lighting. Its steel frame of curved, Gothic-shaped arms has a Dark Weathered Zinc finish with a rough texture, and swags of wooden beads in Driftwood Grey hang between the arms, finished at the bottom with a wooden ball.

Size and hanging height

The chandelier measures 82.3 cm across and the fitting itself is 76.2 cm tall, so it needs room — when hanging it over a table, compare that diameter with the width of the tabletop. The overall drop from the ceiling adjusts between 86.8 and 241.9 cm on a 152.4 cm chain, which lets you set the lower edge 70–80 cm above a table even in taller rooms.

The fitting weighs 7 kg, so it needs a secure fixing point in the ceiling. It is Class I, which means it must be connected with a protective earth conductor.

Lamps

Nori takes six E14 lamps of up to 40 W each and runs on 230 V mains. Lamps are not included. The lampholders are candle-shaped, and the manufacturer recommends a clear LED E14 candle lamp for them, sold separately — the exposed lamps are part of the chandelier's look. The fitting is compatible with dimmable lamps, so with a dimmer and dimmable lamps the brightness can be lowered, for example over dinner.

Style and where it fits

The manufacturer calls Nori a transitional chandelier that softens the Gothic style: heavy, dark ironwork paired with pale wooden beads combines a classic shape with a lighter, contemporary finish. It suits a dining table, a spacious hallway and a hotel lobby. The Nori family also includes a two-light wall light and three- and four-light chandeliers, so smaller rooms can be fitted out in the same style.
