NORLYS Asker Pole Pro 1365BL Black Garden Lantern, LED 8.5 W 3000 K DALI2, 236 cm

The Asker Pole Pro 1365BL is a garden lantern in which pole and luminaire are one piece: a slim extruded aluminium profile 11 cm wide rises to 236 cm and ends in an arm reaching out 39 cm. It is powder-coated black (RAL 9005), and the light leaves the underside of the arm through a clear, sealed PMMA lens.

How it lights a path

The Philips Fortimo LED module gives 1158 lm, and 1085 lm leaves the fitting at a consumption of just 8.5 W – 127.6 lm/W. The Ledil VSM lens spreads the light symmetrically and wide (IESNA type V), so the lantern casts an even circle rather than a bright spot with dark edges – the layout for paths, driveways and courtyards. Only 1% of the flux escapes upwards (BUG B1-U1-G1).

At 3000 K the light is warm white. A CRI of 70 is enough to find your way along a path, but plants and facades will look less saturated than by day. The driver supports DALI2 and NightDim; it leaves the factory set to maximum current, and the maker programs other parameters to order.

Mounting and wiring

The lantern stands on a base plate with four ø12 mm holes at 200 × 200 mm centres. The anchor is bought separately: one to set in concrete (116ZX0009) or a ground anchor (117GA0009). The terminals take conductors up to 5 × 4 mm² and let the supply loop on to the next fitting (up to 5 × 2.5 mm²), and the round-sheathed cable can be 4–8, 8–12 or 10–13.6 mm in diameter. The fitting is protection class I and needs an earth conductor.

The side area is 0.258 m² – the figure wind load is calculated from when choosing the foundation. The lantern weighs 11 kg and its box is 240 cm long, which is worth knowing before the delivery arrives.

Durability and service

IP65 protects against dust and water jets, and IK06 against light impacts. The LED module keeps at least 90% of its flux for more than 100,000 h (L90B10), and the driver is rated for the same. Module and driver are replaced by a professional service, so years later the whole pole does not have to go.

The plain, square-edged silhouette without ornament is a modern form. The lantern is intended for private grounds and parks, and for the surroundings of hotels and restaurants.
