Norlys Nora 2469BL LED outdoor wall light, black, 10.3 W 4000 K, satin glass, DALI-2, IP65

Nora 2469BL is a square Norlys outdoor wall light, 13 cm on each side, that shines up and down at the same time. The cast aluminium body is powder-coated black, and both light openings are closed with satin safety glass that diffuses the light instead of showing the individual LED points. Two LED modules with a driver are built in, so no light source has to be bought.

Size and installation

The light measures 13 × 13 cm and projects only 5 cm from the wall, so beside a door or on a narrow pillar it barely stands out. It is fixed with two screws through ø5 mm holes spaced 63 × 112 mm apart. It is protection class I and needs an earth conductor, while IP65 and IK09 impact resistance allow mounting on an exposed facade.

The terminals take five conductors up to 2.5 mm², meaning the supply together with the two DALI bus wires, and allow them to be looped on to the next fitting (up to 5 × 1.5 mm²). A row of these lights on a facade therefore runs from one cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. The manufacturer also states how many fittings one circuit breaker can take: 46 on B10, 74 on B16 or C10 and 119 on C16, figures to check when planning the circuit.

What light it gives

The fitting draws 10.3 W and gives a total of 496 lm of neutral white 4000 K light with Ra 80 colour rendering. Half of the light goes up and half goes down, so two soft beams of light appear on the wall above and below the fitting. This is light for picking out a facade and marking an entrance, not for lighting a driveway. Flicker values of Pst ≤1 and SVM ≤0.4 mean light without visible flicker or stroboscopic effect.

Dimming and control run over DALI-2, so a DALI controller or system is needed; an ordinary phase dimmer will not work. The LED modules and driver are replaced by a professional service, and Norlys offers a service kit for the fitting. The manufacturer gives an L80 lifetime of more than 102,000 hours and 100,000 hours for the driver.

Where it fits

The smooth, square body with no ornament is a minimalist shape in the Scandinavian spirit. The light is intended for lighting walls and facades, including several fittings in a rhythm along one front.
