Outdoor pendant lantern London 481A/WH on chain, white, E27, IP54 - Norlys

London 481A/WH is an outdoor pendant light shaped as a classic lantern with a hipped roof, hung on a chain. The cast aluminium body and the steel chain are powder-coated white (RAL 9003), and the lantern panes are clear UV-stabilised polycarbonate, so the bulb inside stays visible.

Size and suspension

The lantern itself is 33 cm tall with a 20 × 20 cm footprint; with chain and ceiling cup the light measures 98 cm. Subtract this from the ceiling height where it will hang to see how much clearance is left under the lantern for walking past.

The fitting hangs from a ceiling hook and weighs 1.41 kg. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and the round-sheathed cable may be 7–12 mm in diameter. According to the manual, installation is done by a licensed electrician.

Bulb and light

The light has one E27 socket for an A55–A60 LED bulb up to 110 mm long and up to 9 W. No bulb is included, and you replace it yourself with the power off, so colour and brightness are your choice — 2700–3000 K warm white is the usual pick for an entrance or terrace. Dimming depends on a dimmable bulb and a dimmer. Because the panes are clear, the shape of the bulb becomes part of the lantern's look.

Weather resistance and placement

IP54 protects the light against rain and splashing water, and the manufacturer rates it for −20 to +45 °C. It is protection class II, meaning double insulation and no earth conductor needed. A cracked shade is replaced on its own rather than the whole light — Norlys supplies it as service kit 0904800051.

As a pendant it needs a structure overhead: a pergola, a covered terrace, a balcony or the entrance of a hotel or restaurant. The style is classic English: a white lantern with a roof and a turned finial under the base, modelled on historic street lanterns.
