Outdoor Wall Light Norlys Asker MD1529GB Beige Grey LED 9.4W 2700K with Motion Sensor IP65

The Norlys Asker MD1529GB is an outdoor wall light of 22.5 × 11 × 8.5 cm that emits upward and downward at the same time — half the output goes onto the façade above the fitting, half onto the wall and ground below. The GB finish is Beige Grey; Norlys lists Cement Grey separately as index 1529CG, so when matching an existing installation, check the letter suffix rather than the word "grey".

The motion sensor is the point

The MD letters in the index mark the detector version. The fitting has a built-in microwave motion sensor with a dusk switch and a hold function — unlike a PIR, a microwave sensor also responds through thin barriers and does not lose its target at low ambient temperature. The manufacturer gives the factory settings: detection 100%, hold time 5 seconds, lux threshold off. After installation the parameters should be set for the specific location — five seconds is a test value, not a working one.

How much light, and what kind

The LED module generates 773 lm, but 241 lm leave through the optics and shields — hence the luminaire efficacy of 25.6 lm/W. This is an accent and orientation fitting: it lights an entrance, a path along the wall and the façade itself, not a driveway. 2700 K is distinctly warm, CRI 80 is adequate outdoors, and the BUG classification B0-U3-G0 at ULOR 50% says the fitting sends no light backwards and does not glare — though half the output does go upward, worth checking where light-pollution rules apply.

Construction and installation

The body is powder-coated cast aluminium, the lens structured UV-stabilised polycarbonate, sealed with a silicone gasket and an EPDM gland. IP65 and IK08 allow mounting on an exposed façade, and the −20 to +45 °C operating range covers Central European conditions. Fixing is two ø4.5 mm holes at 180 × 60 mm centres. The luminaire is protection class I, so the installation must provide a protective earth conductor; terminals accept up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and the supply can be looped on to the next fitting.
