The Quintiesse Harrow is a table lamp built on an ovoid ceramic base covered in a vertical incised texture, finished with a polished silver collar and a slim neck. Above it sits a drum shade in faux silk in the Hepplewhite tone — a light, slightly cool grey. The lamp stands 54 cm tall and the shade is 30 cm across.
A texture that works with the light
The surface of the ceramic base is not smooth: irregular vertical grooves run across it, like the trace of a comb drawn through wet clay. In daylight they read as a fine relief, but in the evening, with the lamp lit, side light from the shade picks out every one of them and the base gains depth. That detail is what separates Harrow from ordinary uniform ceramic — and the reason not to stand the lamp with its back to a wall.
Dimensions and proportion
The ceramic base alone is 29 cm high and 18.5 cm across; the shade is 20 cm high and 30 cm in diameter. The proportion is deliberately bottom-heavy: the wide shade holds the eye at the top, the substantial base balances it. At 54 cm overall this is a lamp for a chest of drawers, a console or a wide bedside table — on a narrow surface the 30 cm shade will overhang the edge.
Lamps — check before buying
No bulb is supplied. The fitting has a single E27 socket rated to a maximum of 60 W and contains no integrated LED, so the lamp is chosen and replaced by you. The manufacturer states that the fitting is compatible with dimmable smart lamps — dimming is therefore done by the bulb and its app rather than by the fitting, and no wall dimmer is needed.
The faux-silk shade diffuses strongly and warms the light slightly, so a 2700 K lamp with more output than the fitting's size suggests will suit it well.
Power and use
Harrow is a portable, plug-in lamp — the flex with its plug is clear, PVC-insulated, and chosen not to draw attention on pale furniture. Operating voltage is 220–240 V at 50 Hz. The fitting is protection class I and therefore needs an earthed socket, which is worth checking in older installations. The height is not adjustable.
Materials, service and warranty
The construction combines ceramic, steel and faux silk, with the metalwork in a silver finish. The manufacturer lists the shade as a separate spare part under the number LSUK034, so a damaged or soiled shade can be replaced without buying a new lamp — a point that matters on a fabric fitting. A two-year guarantee applies and the lamp is for interior use only. Net weight is 3.06 kg, gross 3.4 kg; the carton measures 33 × 33 × 60 cm.
