Quintiesse Karlee QN-KARLEE3 3-light chandelier, E14, Classic Pewter

Karlee QN-KARLEE3 from Quintiesse is a three-arm steel chandelier in Classic Pewter, accented with crystal drops. Slender curved arms carry exposed candle-style lamp holders, while a further crystal hangs at the centre. Rather than forming an enclosed shade, the individual drops leave the frame open and the bulbs visible.

Plan for the drop, not just the body

The fitting body is 464 mm high and 457 mm in diameter. Body height is not the same as the installed distance from the ceiling: the manufacturer's minimum and maximum drops are 589 and 1505 mm. Compare that range with your ceiling height and the clearance needed above a dining table or beneath the fitting in a living room or bedroom. In an entrance hall, leave sufficient headroom along the walking route.

Height is selected during installation using the supplied stems and a short chain section. Two 305 mm stems and two 152 mm stems are included. The round ceiling canopy measures 127 mm across and 25 mm high, so allow for its footprint when positioning the ceiling connection.

Choose three E14 bulbs separately

The chandelier takes three E14 candle bulbs, each rated at a maximum of 60 W, or suitable LED equivalents. Bulbs are not included. Their outline contributes to the appearance of the open frame, so bulb choice is a visual decision as well as a lighting one. Light output and colour temperature depend on the bulbs you select, rather than on a built-in LED module.

Dimming requires dimmable bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch, which is not supplied. An E14 base alone does not make a bulb dimmable, so check both parts of the combination before purchase.

A restrained take on crystal decoration

The candle arrangement and pendant drops suit classic and glamour interiors, while the pared-back arms also work with modern-classic furnishings. This is an indoor hanging fitting, including for use over a dining table. Check its 457 mm diameter against the furniture beneath it and establish the intended installation height before ordering.
