Wall Light Max Light HUGO W0053 White LED 5W 3000K Aluminum

HUGO W0053 is a wall light with a rounded, flattened body 17 cm wide. The band is polished aluminium, and white opal covers close the openings at the top and the bottom. The LED module is built in, so the fitting lights up as soon as it is wired in.

How large it is and how much wall it takes

The fitting is 17 cm wide and 8 cm high, and it projects 9.5 cm from the wall. That last figure is the one to compare with the width of the passage where it will hang — in a narrow hallway it decides whether the light gets in the way.

The mounting plate measures 12 × 5.5 cm and stays inside the outline of the body, so nothing shows from under the fitting once it is up. Power comes from a cable brought out of the wall.

How much light it gives and of what kind

The built-in module draws 5 W and delivers 488 lm at 3000 K — warm white with a slightly yellow cast, close to the light of a traditional bulb. That output is roughly two thirds of what a 60 W bulb used to give, so the fitting supplements the main lighting rather than replacing it.

The body is open at the top and at the bottom, so the light leaves in two streams: up onto the wall and down. The opal covers diffuse it, which puts two soft patches on the wall instead of a sharply cut cone.

Light source and build

The LED module is permanently built in and has no cap — it cannot be swapped or changed for another colour temperature, so 3000 K stays with the fitting for its whole life. No bulb needs buying, and the supply is ordinary 230 V.

The fitting is not dimmable, so a wall dimmer will not change its brightness. The housing is aluminium: the band polished to a mirror finish, the covers white. The manufacturer states energy class F.

Where it fits

The shape is modern — a smooth, rounded body with no ornament, the only accent being the contrast between polished metal and white covers. The manufacturer describes HUGO as a supplement to the main lighting: above the sofa in a living room, beside the bed in a bedroom, and in an entrance hall or corridor, where 488 lm is enough to move around comfortably.
