Vetro W0289 is a wall light built from an upright rectangular slab of thick, colourless glass with a heavily rippled surface, and a polished gold block at its lower edge. The built-in LED sits inside the gold block, and the glass does the work of a shade.
How it lights
The fitting puts out 240 lm on 3 W. That is an amount of light for an accent on the wall, not for lighting a room - it backlights the glass slab and a patch of wall around itself, so it is planned alongside another light source rather than instead of one.
The uneven, fractured texture of the glass breaks the output into irregular highlights rather than an even panel, and it is what decides how the lit fitting looks. The colour temperature is 3000 K, warm white, and the colour rendering index of Ra 90 sits well above the usual Ra 80: wall colours, pictures and gold detailing next to the light read more faithfully under it.
Light source and control
The LED is permanently built in and supplied with the fitting - no bulb is bought for it and none is changed by the owner. The manufacturer also states outright that the fitting does not work with a dimmer: with an integrated LED that cannot be worked around by choosing a different lamp, so it runs at full output only.
Size and operating conditions
The fitting is 13 cm wide and 30 cm high and stands 5,5 cm off the wall - the last figure is worth comparing with the width of the passage where it is to hang. The body is stainless steel, the shade glass. IP20 covers no moisture, so the fitting is meant for dry interiors. The energy efficiency class is G.
