Winslow is a two-light wall light by Kichler, distributed by Elstead Lighting. The steel frame carries the Natural Brass finish — a brushed, matt brass tone. A horizontal arm runs from a round wall plate, and at each end sits a cylindrical shade of clear glass with fine air bubbles.
Size and installation
The wall light is 32.6 cm wide and 23.5 cm high, and projects 16.5 cm from the wall. Compare the width with the mirror it will hang above or beside, and the projection with the walkway if it goes in a hallway. The round wall plate is 10.2 cm across and 2.5 cm deep.
The distributor states that the fitting can be mounted in different positions — the manufacturer's photos show the shades pointing up in some shots and down in others. It weighs 1.16 kg and is Class I, so it must be connected to the protective earth.
Light sources
The fitting takes two E27 bulbs of up to 60 W each. Bulbs are not included. The glass is clear, so the bulb stays visible — its shape and colour become part of the look, and the bubbles in the glass soften the light slightly. For a living room or hallway 2700–3000 K, a warm light, is the usual choice.
The fitting is compatible with dimmable bulbs: you need a dimmer and bulbs marked as dimmable. The shades are removable, which the manufacturer notes makes cleaning and glass replacement easier.
Style and series
The manufacturer describes Winslow as a clean, classic, early-electric look: a simple form, metal lampholders and seeded glass. It suits a living room, dining room, study or hallway. The Winslow series also includes a single wall light, a semi-flush ceiling light and chandeliers in the same finish.
