Kichler Winslow is a six-arm chandelier on a chain. The arms reach out horizontally from a central hub, and each ends in an upward-facing lampholder inside a cylindrical shade of clear seeded glass, dotted with small air bubbles. The steel frame has a Natural Brass finish with a subdued sheen. The chandelier comes from the American brand Kichler, distributed in Europe by Elstead Lighting.
Size and suspension
The chandelier is 66 cm in diameter, and the fitting itself is 41.8 cm high. It hangs from a 91.4 cm chain, and the overall height — from ceiling to the bottom of the fitting — is set during installation anywhere between 53.8 and 145.2 cm. Over a table, the bottom of a light usually sits 70–80 cm above the top, so check that range against your own ceiling height.
The ceiling canopy is 12.1 cm across and 2.5 cm deep. The fitting weighs 4.22 kg, so in a suspended ceiling it must be fixed to the supporting structure. It is a Class I fitting and has to be connected to a protective earth.
Light source
There are six E27 lampholders, each rated for a bulb of up to 60 W; bulbs are not included. The shades are clear, so the bulbs stay on show — the manufacturer recommends classic clear E27 LED bulbs in the A60 pear shape. The seeded glass partly diffuses the light. With dimmable bulbs, the chandelier can be run from a dimmer.
The glass shades are removable, which makes cleaning or replacing them easier.
Style and use
Straight arms, open glass cylinders and brass recall early electric light fittings — the manufacturer calls the look classic, and the distributor describes it as transitional, between traditional and modern. It is intended for a living room, a dining room above the table, a study, a hallway and an entrance hall. It is for indoor use only.
