BORNEO 1707 is a wall light for a single E27 bulb that stays fully exposed — the fitting has no shade. The round wall plate and the arm, bent at a right angle, are black, while the cylindrical lampholder has an antique brass-coloured finish. The construction is steel.
Dimensions and space on the wall
The wall light is 32 cm high and 10 cm wide, and it holds the bulb 17 cm away from the wall. The arm leaves the plate horizontally and turns downwards, so the bulb hangs below it. Compare those 17 cm with the spot you have in mind: beside a bed or in a hallway, they decide whether the fitting sticks out into the walkway.
The fitting weighs 0.2 kg, runs on 230 V mains and, according to the manufacturer, is intended for indoor use only.
Which bulb to choose
The bulb is not included. The manufacturer allows up to 15 W in the E27 socket, and a limit that low rules out classic incandescent and halogen bulbs — in practice this wall light is meant for LED bulbs. Even an LED equivalent of an old 60 W bulb fits within it, as it usually draws 7–9 W.
Because the bulb is completely visible, its shape and glass become part of how the lamp looks. A round decorative bulb with a visible filament emphasises the open form, while an opal one diffuses the light and glares less when you look straight at it. You also choose the colour of light yourself: 2700 K is warm, slightly yellow light, 4000 K is neutral white.
Style and the BORNEO series
The manufacturer describes the style as modern, and a bare bulb on a plain metal arm is also a typical feature of loft-style interiors. The matt black of the arm and the warm tone of the patinated brass finish on the lampholder run through the whole series.
The BORNEO series also includes the 1705 pendant for three E27 bulbs in the same finish, 60 cm high and 54 cm wide. The wall light can be paired with it in one room — a living room, a bedroom or a hallway.
