Chateau chandelier - 4 light sources - Mocha Bronze Elstead

Chateau is a four-arm candle chandelier from Feiss (Generation Lighting), distributed by Elstead Lighting. Its scrolled steel arms carry a Mocha Bronze patina — dark bronze with lighter rubbed highlights on the edges — and cut K9 glass crystals hang from the arms and the base. The lampholders sit in cream candle sleeves.

Size and suspension

The body is 42.2 cm in diameter and 54.9 cm high. A diameter of about 40 cm keeps its proportions over a table 80–90 cm wide, and over a table a chandelier is usually hung so its base sits 70–80 cm above the top. It hangs on a 152.4 cm chain, and the overall height from the ceiling runs from 51.2 to 219.1 cm — shortening the chain matches it to the room height.

The chandelier weighs 4.29 kg, so the ceiling hook or fixing must carry that load. It is Class I and must be connected to an earth conductor. The manufacturer specifies it for indoor use only.

Bulbs and light

The four E14 lampholders each take a bulb of up to 60 W. Bulbs are not included — four need to be bought, and because they stand exposed above the candle sleeves, their shape is part of how the fitting looks. The crystals split the light and throw small highlights onto the ceiling and walls, most clearly with clear-glass bulbs.

The fitting is compatible with dimmable bulbs: dimming needs a dimmer switch and bulbs marked as dimmable.

Style and intended rooms

The manufacturer names European castles and stately homes as its inspiration, which shows in the classic form: ornate scrolls, candles and crystal drops. The chandelier is intended for dining rooms, over a table, for hallways and for hotel interiors. The Chateau range also includes a semi-flush ceiling light in the same finish.
