Drive-over In-ground Light NORLYS Rena Cover 1775BL black LED 8.4 W 4000 K

Rena Cover 1775BL is a NORLYS drive-over in-ground light set into the paving, with a square 13 × 13 cm cover. The cast-aluminium housing is powder-coated black (RAL 9005), and the body reaches 18.2 cm into the ground. The cover has four cut-outs that let the light out to four sides, while the outlet is shielded from above.

Where it can go and what it withstands

NORLYS allows vehicles on pneumatic tyres to drive over it and gives a maximum load of 1000 kg — enough for a garage driveway or the entrance to a property. The manufacturer states that it must not be installed on traffic lanes, where sudden braking, acceleration and turning would put horizontal forces on it.

IP68 (1 m) means it stays sealed even under water, so rainwater standing on the paving cannot get in, and IK09 describes high impact resistance of the housing. The diffuser of satin polycarbonate is UV-stabilised, and the light works from −20 to +45 °C.

How much light it gives, and what kind

The source is an integrated 8 W AC LED module rated at 933 lm, but only 34 lm leaves the shielded four-way outlet, at 8.4 W consumption. This is orientation light: it marks the edge of a driveway, path or steps rather than lighting the ground around it.

4000 K is a neutral white, cooler than an ordinary bulb; Norlys builds a 2700 K version on order. CRI 80 is the usual colour rendering outdoors, and SDCM3 means neighbouring lights shine in the same tint. L70 life exceeds 59,000 h, over 50 years at three hours a day. The light source is in energy class E.

Installation, wiring and dimming

The mounting box is set into the ground following the instructions; other accessories, including the connection boxes 145ZX0009 and 146ZX0009, are bought separately. A 1 m H05BQ-F 3G1 cable with a THB.391.R4A.L connector leaves the luminaire.

The light runs on 220–240 V and is protection class I, so the installation needs a protective earth. It can be dimmed with a trailing-edge or leading-edge phase dimmer. Only a professional service replaces the LED module, using the NORLYS service kit ZS1775zx0010.
