Elstead Cedar Point Outdoor Hanging Lantern, Black, 1×E27

Cedar Point is an outdoor hanging lantern from the Quoizel collection supplied by Elstead Lighting. Its black cast-aluminium frame surrounds clear seeded glass. A square roof, upright corner posts and slender crossbars give the fitting the geometric outline of a traditional lantern rather than an open pendant shade.

Allow for the full hanging drop

The lantern body measures 33.8 cm high and 19.7 cm wide and deep. These are not the dimensions of the complete suspended fitting. The manufacturer specifies a minimum-to-maximum drop of 45.4–202.4 cm and supplies a chain length of 152.4 cm. Compare the mounting height with the intended position of the lantern's lower edge before choosing its location.

The dimension drawing shows a square ceiling canopy measuring 12.5 cm across. That footprint matters on a narrow beam or limited ceiling surface. At an entrance, leave clearance for people and the swing of the door; above a table, also check the distance between the lantern and the tabletop.

Choose a separate E27 bulb

There is one E27 socket, with a maximum permitted bulb wattage of 60 W. The bulb is not included. Brightness and light colour therefore depend on the bulb you select, rather than on a built-in light source. The warm light shown in the photographs does not establish a fixed colour temperature for this fitting.

The manufacturer confirms compatibility with dimmable bulbs. If dimming is required, match the bulb to the intended control. The small bubbles in the glass partly interrupt the view of the bulb without making the panels opaque. Their texture is also visible when the light is off, unlike a plain, smooth glazing panel.

Exterior use with a traditional outline

Cedar Point is specified for exterior use and carries an IP44 rating. Its suspended construction can be considered for a terrace, balcony or gazebo with a suitable overhead mounting point, including comparable outdoor areas of hotels and restaurants. IP44 indicates protection against splashing water; it does not mean dust-tight construction or suitability for immersion.

The chain, roof and framed glazing support classic and rustic schemes. The black framework defines the edges while the seeded glass provides the distinguishing surface detail.
