Endon Daley 61608 is a wall light with a circular backplate, a straight arm and a cylindrical fabric shade. Its matt nickel finish is paired with vintage white faux silk fabric. An on/off switch is fitted to the backplate.
Allow for the full projection
The fitting measures 20 cm high and 15 cm wide, with a projection of 23 cm from the wall. When choosing its position, allow for the whole projecting fitting rather than just the shade width. This matters beside a headboard, near furniture or along a route through the room, where the shade must not obstruct movement. Also check that the switch will be within reach from the intended position.
Daley provides a supplementary lighting point for a living room, bedroom or dining room, and its form also suits hotel or restaurant interiors. A single wall light should not be assumed to provide all the lighting a room needs. The manufacturer's instructions specify indoor use and explicitly rule out installation in a bathroom.
Choose the bulb separately
There is one E14 lamp holder. Endon specifies a 7 W LED bulb, which is not included. Brightness and colour temperature therefore depend on the bulb you choose, rather than being fixed characteristics of the fitting. The illuminated shade in the photographs does not describe a supplied light source: no bulb comes with this light.
The integral switch turns the light on and off; it is not evidence of an integral dimmer. This is a Class I fitting and requires an earth connection. Installation must follow the manufacturer's instructions.
A fabric shade with restrained metalwork
The simple backplate and arm give the light a contemporary outline, while the cylindrical textile shade adds a classic element. This combination works in modern and modern-classic schemes without elaborate ornament. For cleaning, the manufacturer specifies a dry cloth only, with no liquid or abrasive cleaners. Switch off and allow the fitting to cool before cleaning it.
