EYE L 8916 is a pendant light built from three white steel tubes, each hung on its own cable from a single round ceiling canopy. Every tube is 5.5 cm across and 40 cm long, and the cables are cut to different lengths, so the tubes sit at three levels. The steel is lacquered white, as are the canopy and the cables.

How much room it needs and how high to hang it

The canopy is 20 cm across and 2.5 cm deep — it covers a standard junction box and marks out the whole area the fitting takes up on the ceiling. Maximum overall height is 130 cm, measured from the ceiling to the bottom edge of the lowest tube.

Over a table the drop is usually shortened so the bottom edges of the tubes sit 70–80 cm above the top: the light then lands on the table and the tubes do not block the person opposite. The cables are trimmed during installation, and any height change beyond their range is reserved by the manufacturer for a qualified electrician. The fitting itself weighs 3.16 kg, so in a plasterboard ceiling the fixing belongs in the supporting structure rather than in the board.

The light it gives

Each tube takes one lamp with a GU10 cap in the R50 format. Bulbs are not included, so you choose colour and brightness yourself — over a dining table 2700–3000 K is the usual pick, meaning warm, slightly yellow light. The manufacturer allows a maximum of 10 W per light point and LED sources only: a closed steel tube cannot shed the heat of a halogen reflector, which rules out a halogen GU10 of the same rating.

The tube is opaque at the sides and open only at the bottom, so each lamp throws a narrow cone straight down. That lights a defined surface — a worktop, a table, an island — rather than the room: general lighting needs a second fitting.

Build, mounting and what is in the box

The fitting is protection class I, so an earth conductor has to be present at the connection point. Supply is 220–230 V, 50/60 Hz, and mounting is direct — the canopy screws to the ceiling. The manufacturer intends the lamp for indoor use only: over a dining table, over a kitchen worktop, in a living room, an office or a study.

The 45 × 21 × 12.5 cm carton holds the fitting itself along with the manual and the mounting instructions; gross package weight is 3.34 kg. It is made in Poland and belongs to the EYE series.
