The COQUIMBO LE61501 is a plaster wall light shaped as a white rectangular block of 22 × 7 cm that stands 9.5 cm off the wall. A glass slot is recessed into its underside — the light leaves through that slot, downwards, onto the wall below the fitting.
How much wall it takes
The body is 22 cm wide and 7 cm tall and projects 9.5 cm from the wall face — little enough not to be in the way in a narrow hallway, but enough to be worth checking against a door that swings past it. It is a surface-mounted fitting, fixed straight onto the wall.
Light leaves through the single slot in the underside, so the fitting lays it on the wall beneath itself rather than spreading it through the room. It lights a spot; it is not a reading light.
The bulb is not included
The fitting has one E14 holder and runs on 230 V. The manufacturer caps the lamp at 5 W — at that limit only an LED bulb gives useful brightness, since an incandescent or halogen of that wattage barely lights. Colour and output are yours to choose, because no lamp is supplied.
Plaster, and where it can go
The body is cast plaster and the slot is closed with glass. Bare plaster takes wall paint, so the fitting can be painted in the wall colour and made to disappear into it — or left white. Plaster is brittle, so during installation it is better to hold the block by its flat face than by the edges. The ingress rating and the sensitivity of plaster to damp rule out bathrooms and outdoor use.
