Maryville is a six-arm chandelier by Feiss (Generation Lighting), supplied through Elstead Lighting. Strands of wooden beads drape over a steel frame with curved arms, and each arm ends in a candle-style holder on a flower-shaped bobeche. The whole piece is finished in Washed Grey – a distressed grey through which a lighter base coat shows.
Size and hanging height
The chandelier is 71.1 cm in diameter and the fitting itself is 74.3 cm tall. It hangs on a 152.4 cm chain, and the overall drop ranges from 83.9 to 240.6 cm – the length is set during installation by shortening the chain. Over a dining table, hang the lowest holders 70–80 cm above the tabletop; compare the 71 cm diameter with the width of your own table, as the chandelier should not extend beyond its edges.
The fitting weighs 4.68 kg, so it needs a solid fixing point in the ceiling – on a suspended ceiling it is fixed to the load-bearing structure, not to the board alone.
Which bulbs are needed
The chandelier has six E14 sockets, each for a lamp of up to 60 W. No bulbs are included – six need to be bought separately. The holders are candle-shaped and exposed, so a candle-shaped bulb with a clear envelope completes the look of the arms.
The fitting is compatible with dimmable lamps: if the circuit has a dimmer, all six bulbs must be marked as dimmable.
Style and intended use
Maryville follows the French country (Provençal) and rustic style: distressed grey, wooden beads and floral bobeches beneath the candles. The manufacturer rates it for indoor use only; it suits a dining table, a hallway and hotel interiors. It is protection class I, so it must be connected to a protective earth conductor.
