Three spots in brass yokes on a black bar
The Lotus 3-Spot is a 58 cm bar with a round canopy at its centre, carrying three cylindrical spot heads. The detail that gives the fitting its character is the yokes: each head sits in a curved stirrup of polished brass, bolted on both sides. Against the black silk-matt lacquer (RAL 9005) the brass reads as a warm yellow accent — and that is what separates the Lotus from dozens of similar spot bars.
Each head swivels through 150°
The spots are not fixed — the tilt angle is 150°, so the light can be aimed almost anywhere: straight down onto a worktop, sideways at a picture wall, or upwards to bounce off the ceiling for soft ambient light. Three independently set points let you combine those scenarios in one fitting, which is useful in a room that does more than one job.
Three E14 sockets; you choose the lamps
The fitting carries three E14 sockets rated to 40 W each. Lamps are not included, which on a spot like this is an advantage: choosing the bulbs is how you set the colour of the light and whether the fitting dims at all. Nordlux states plainly that the luminaire can be dimmed provided dimmable lamps and a suitable dimmer are used — there is no control electronics built into the fitting itself.
Dimensions worth checking before you fit it
The bar is 58 cm long and the whole fitting projects 20 cm from the ceiling — a fair amount for ceiling lighting, so plan for it in a low room. The canopy is 9 cm across and covers a standard box. The shades measure 6.6 cm in diameter and the whole thing weighs 883 g, so it makes no particular demands of the fixing.
Class II — no earth conductor needed
The Lotus is a class II fitting: double-insulated, with no earth connection required. That eases installation in older wiring where the ceiling box has no PE core. IP20 protection restricts it to dry interiors.
Where it works
A spot bar is the answer for rooms where a single source in the middle of the ceiling is not enough: over a kitchen run, in a hallway or corridor, in a living room above the seating area or over a bookcase. The industrial streak — a black cylinder with brass hardware — sits well against concrete, brick and raw timber, yet the restrained shape keeps it comfortable in Scandinavian minimalism too.
