Oja 24 is a round LED ceiling light just 2.3 cm deep and 24.4 cm across, with a white plastic body and an opal diffuser covering the whole face. Some of the light also escapes sideways past the edge of the body and lifts the ceiling around the fitting with a narrow halo. The LED module is built in permanently and comes included, so there are no bulbs to buy.
Size and installation
At 2.3 cm deep the light sits almost flat against the ceiling: it takes no height from the room and stays clear of a door leaf or a tall wardrobe. Compare the 24.4 cm diameter with the marks left by your current lamp — it will cover the footprint of a small ceiling rose, but not of a wide canopy. It weighs 0.5 kg.
The body joins its mounting part with a twist (a twist-lock connection). Mounting screws are not included and are chosen to suit the ceiling. The fitting connects directly to 230 V mains with 0.75–1.5 mm² conductors. It is Class II, meaning double-insulated, so no earth wire is needed. The manufacturer specifies it for dry indoor rooms only.
How much light and what kind
The 11 W module gives 1250 lm, more than an old 75 W incandescent bulb — enough as the main light in a small room, an entrance hall or a corridor. At 2700 K the light is warm and slightly yellowish, close to a traditional bulb, and the 120° beam spreads it widely beneath the fitting. A colour rendering index of Ra 80 is typical of general lighting at home.
The light cannot be dimmed, so it goes on an ordinary switch rather than a dimmer. The manufacturer rates the LED for 25,000 hours. The light source cannot be replaced — when the module reaches the end of its life, the whole fitting is replaced. The energy class is E.
Where it fits
A flat, smooth disc with no ornament and no visible fixings is a minimalist form that does not dominate a room. The light suits a living room and a bedroom, and with its low profile and wide spread also an entrance hall and a corridor, where the light has to cover the whole passage without lowering the ceiling.
