Nordlux Oja 42 LED ceiling light with motion sensor, white, 2700 K, IP54

Nordlux Oja 42 Sensor is a white indoor LED ceiling light with a built-in microwave motion sensor. Its round plastic body projects just 3.8 cm from the ceiling, with a narrow rim around the light panel. When switched on, a separate backlight effect outlines the fitting against the ceiling.

Set the detection area, not just the mounting point

The sensor switches the light on when it detects movement. Nordlux specifies a range of 3–6 m, with an adjustable detection area and hold time. These settings let you match the response to the installation position and the way the room is used. The instructions also provide for a daylight threshold setting.

Microwave detection can reach through glass and thin walls. If the fitting is close to an adjoining room, do not assume that the wall will contain its detection zone. Check the actual response after installation and adjust the area if necessary; this is a practical difference from simply positioning a conventional ceiling light.

Fixed warm light from an integrated source

The included 20 W LED produces 2100 lm at 2700 K. Its 120° beam provides a broad spread rather than a narrow accent on one object. There is no separate bulb to buy, but this version cannot be dimmed and its warm light colour is fixed. The stated LED lifetime is 25,000 hours. The light source is non-replaceable, so the whole fitting must be replaced when the source reaches the end of its life.

A shallow fitting for bathrooms and circulation spaces

Check the 42.4 cm diameter against the available ceiling area before choosing its position. The low profile, white finish and plain circular outline suit modern, minimalist and Scandinavian interiors. Motion-controlled switching supports use in hallways, corridors, stairwells and walk-in closets, as well as general lighting in garages and basements.

IP54 and the manufacturer's confirmed suitability for humid interiors support bathroom use, subject to the relevant installation zones and local electrical rules. This is not an outdoor fitting. It connects permanently to a 230 V mains supply; mounting screws are not included. A qualified installer should assess the intended bathroom position rather than relying on the IP rating alone.
