Nordland 5046GR is a surface-mounted outdoor light of the plafond type, fitted either on a wall or on a ceiling. A square frame of cast aluminium, powder-coated in graphite RAL 7016, surrounds a diffuser of opal UV-stabilised polycarbonate, which also shows through the side slots of the frame. Inside is an integrated LED module running directly on 230 V mains, so there is no bulb to buy.

Size and mounting

According to the manufacturer's drawing the light measures 28 × 28 cm and is 9.5 cm deep, so it stands out very little from a wall or a canopy ceiling. It is fixed through two ø5 mm holes spaced 150 × 170 mm. It weighs 2.25 kg, and 2.55 kg in its 30.5 × 30.5 × 11 cm box.

The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and the EPDM gland seals a round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. It is protection class I, so the installation needs a protective earth.

What light it gives

The opal diffuser spreads the light, so the fitting glows softly to the sides and downward, without a hard beam on the wall. It draws 16 W; the LED module delivers 1419 lm and 934 lm leaves the fitting (58.4 lm/W) — slightly more than an old 60 W bulb, which is what an entrance, a balcony or a covered terrace needs.

3000 K is warm white, CRI 80 is standard colour rendering, and SDCM3 keeps several fittings side by side at the same shade. 9.38 % of the flux goes upward (ULOR), and the BUG rating is B0-U3-G1. It dims on an ordinary phase dimmer, either trailing edge (TE) or leading edge (LE).

Weather resistance and service

IP65 allows mounting outdoors without cover, even where jets of water reach it. IK10, the top of the IK scale, protects it against hard impacts, which matters when the light hangs low within reach. The manufacturer specifies ambient temperatures from −20 to +45 °C.

The integrated LED module is replaced only by a professional service, using the Norlys repair kit ZS5046zx0009. To order, the light is also available at 2700 K and in other RAL colours.

The plain geometric body without ornament suits modern and minimalist architecture — on balconies, terraces and in gazebos, and at hotel and restaurant entrances.
