NORDLAND outdoor wall / ceiling light with motion sensor 7118AL 12W 3000K - light grey RAL 9006 - NORLYS

Nordland 7118AL is a square outdoor luminaire for wall or ceiling mounting, finished in light grey RAL 9006. The cast frame is plain and unornamented, and the opal diffuser shows through it both at the front and on the sides. This version has a built-in microwave motion sensor with a twilight switch and works as a MASTER luminaire.

Size and mounting

The luminaire measures 28 × 28 cm, projects 9.5 cm from the wall or ceiling and weighs 2.8 kg. It is fixed through two ø5 mm holes spaced 150 × 170 mm apart — worth comparing with the spot where the supply cable comes out of the wall.

The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and up to 3 × 1.5 mm² when looping through to the next luminaire. The cable gland seals a round cable of 7 to 10.5 mm diameter. It is a protection class I luminaire, so the earth conductor must be connected.

What light it gives

The light source is an integrated 12 W LED module, included in the box. The luminaire delivers 873 lm, slightly more than an old 60 W bulb, at 3000 K — warm white. The light is diffused, and the side windows of the diffuser also brighten the wall or ceiling around the luminaire. It is not dimmable. The LED module is replaced by a qualified electrician; the manufacturer offers a service kit for it.

Motion sensor and group operation

The microwave sensor switches the light on when it detects movement, and the twilight switch makes sure this happens only after dark. A hold function keeps the light on for a while after movement stops.

As a MASTER, the luminaire can control a run of up to 11 luminaires connected by cable: movement detected by the sensor switches them all on at once. Such a run starts and ends with a MASTER luminaire, with SLAVE versions without a sensor, sold separately, mounted in between.

Build and where to mount it

The housing is powder-coated cast aluminium, the diffuser is opal UV-stabilised polycarbonate and the gasket is silicone. The IP65 rating allows outdoor mounting without extra shelter, and IK10 is the highest impact-resistance class. The manufacturer gives an operating range of −20 to +45 °C. The luminaire is intended for facades, above entrance doors, under roof soffits, on terraces and in gazebos, as well as for hotels and restaurants. The warranty is 5 years, with a 25-year anti-corrosion warranty.
