Piper is an oval chandelier by Kichler, distributed in Europe by Elstead Lighting. Beneath a polished chrome band hangs a dense row of clear glass rods alternating with chrome-finished metal rods, and each element ends in a glass ball with small air bubbles inside. Six light sources sit inside this curtain.
Size and hanging height
The fitting is 91.6 cm long, 34.3 cm wide and 31.3 cm high, so it is elongated rather than round. Compare that length with the surface it will hang over: the chandelier is intended for a dining table or a kitchen island. Over a standard 75 cm high table, the lower edge of the fitting is usually set 70–80 cm above the top.
The drop adjusts between 44.8 and 136.2 cm. The band hangs from a central rod and four suspension cables, and the manufacturer supplies two 30.5 cm rods in the box. The ceiling plate is oval and measures 14 × 23.5 cm.
Light sources and power
The chandelier takes six E14 bulbs of up to 60 W each. Bulbs are not included, so you choose the colour temperature and brightness yourself; the bulbs stay visible through the clear glass, which makes their shape part of how the fitting looks. It can be dimmed when used with bulbs marked as dimmable and a suitable dimmer.
The fitting is protection class I, which means it must be connected to an earth conductor. It weighs 9.2 kg and therefore needs a secure fixing point in the ceiling — on a suspended ceiling, an anchor into the load-bearing structure.
Style and construction
The frame is steel finished in polished chrome, combined with clear glass. Mirror-like metal and hanging glass balls give the piece a glamour character, while the simple oval band keeps it modern. The chandelier is for indoor use only.
