Rendl VALE R13648 is a black LED wall light for directed illumination beside a bed or at a reading position. Its narrow cylindrical head sits on a flexible arm, while the round wall base contains a rocker switch. You can change the position of the light without moving the base on the wall.
A focused beam you can position
The integrated LED uses 3 W and provides 175 lm at a colour temperature of 3000 K. This is warm white light. A 30° beam concentrates it on a limited area rather than spreading it like a broad lampshade, making VALE a local lighting supplement rather than a replacement for the main room light.
Bending the arm lets you aim the head at a book or a chosen part of the bedside area. Plan the base position around where you actually sit or lie when reading, so that the flexible section can be used to direct the beam. In a bedroom or hotel room, the switch on the base gives this light its own control. The same arrangement can serve a reading position in a living room without placing a lamp on a side table.
Check the full length before installation
The manufacturer's drawing specifies an overall length of 66 cm. The flexible section measures 49 cm, and the head is 6.5 cm long with a diameter of 2.8 cm. The circular base has a diameter of 10.5 cm and a depth of 2.7 cm. Overall length is not a fixed projection from the wall: the space occupied changes with the bend of the arm.
Black metal construction, a small head and a plain circular base suit modern, modernist and minimalist interiors. With no broad shade, the curve of the arm remains the main visual feature, including when positioned beside a headboard.
Power connection and supplied components
VALE operates at 230 V, with the LED light source and transformer included. The manufacturer allows a cable to run through the base's cable entry to a socket, but does not supply that cable. Allow for this when choosing the connection arrangement. The instructions require installation by a qualified person and isolation of the power supply before work begins.
