s.luce Orb 179388 pendant light, 3×E27, clear glass, white canopy, Ø20/30/40 cm

The s.luce Orb 179388 brings together three clear glass globes and a white metal ceiling canopy. The set contains shades measuring 20, 30 and 40 cm in diameter, rather than three identical globes. Bulbs remain visible through the glass, so their appearance contributes to the fitting even when the light is switched off.

Three sizes sharing one canopy

The circular XL Modular canopy measures 40 cm across and brings the three suspensions together at one mounting point. The manufacturer provides for adjustment of globe height and position, with a maximum suspension of 500 cm. This allows a vertical arrangement in a tall living room, an open stairwell or beside a mezzanine. The canopy diameter should not be read as the overall width of the completed arrangement.

Before choosing the fitting, compare the largest globe with the available space and decide where the lowest shade will sit. Above a table, check clearance from the tabletop; over a circulation route, allow unobstructed passage. The three different diameters give the group a distinctive composition even when the height differences are modest.

Choose the bulbs and dimming setup

Each globe has one E27 socket. Bulbs are not supplied, and the manufacturer lists a power rating of 40 W. There is no fixed light colour or brightness for this fitting: both depend on your chosen light sources. With clear glass, the shape and visible design of a bulb deserve consideration alongside its lighting specifications.

Dimming requires suitable bulbs. The selected light sources and control must work together; a dimmable fitting does not make every E27 bulb dimmable. Choose the bulbs with the intended control arrangement in mind rather than assuming compatibility from the socket alone.

Clear globes with white metalwork

Variant 179388 uses colourless glass and white metal components, not opaque opal shades. Simple spheres, slim suspensions and a shared canopy support a modern, minimalist interior. The transparent globes preserve views through the shades instead of presenting three solid white forms.
