s.luce Orb 179654 8-Light Pendant, E27, Smoke-Gradient Glass, Black, 160 cm

The s.luce Orb 179654 is an eight-light pendant with smoke-gradient glass globes and a black suspension. Rather than being uniformly tinted, each shade changes from a darker upper section to a clearer lower section. Separate hanging cords arrange the eight globes at different levels beneath an elongated metal canopy.

Three globe sizes on a 160 cm canopy

The combination contains two globes measuring 40 cm in diameter, three measuring 30 cm and three measuring 20 cm. Allow for the largest shades when planning clearance above your furniture: the glass extends beyond the individual suspension points. The stated 160 × 25 × 4 cm measurement refers to the ceiling canopy, not to a single shade.

The Modular beam has two longitudinal slots for positioning the pendants. The manufacturer allows the position and hanging height of the globes to be adapted and lists a maximum suspension of 150 cm. Compare this arrangement with your ceiling height, tabletop length and electrical connection before installation. Positioning the individual drops is particularly relevant when the ceiling outlet is not centred over the table.

Choose eight bulbs to suit the installation

All eight E27 light sources are replaceable, and bulbs are not supplied. Your choice of bulbs determines the light colour and output, so compare these specifications across the complete set rather than relying on the number of sockets alone. Because the glass is transparent towards the bottom, the appearance of the bulbs also contributes to the finished arrangement.

Dimming requires suitable bulbs and compatible control equipment. An E27 base alone does not establish dimmer compatibility; check the specifications of the bulbs against the controller you intend to use.

For dining tables and kitchen islands

The manufacturer specifies dining-table and kitchen-island lighting for this combination. Its long canopy and two-row arrangement follow the length of a tabletop. Spherical glass, slender cords and black metal suit modern and minimalist interiors. The smoke-to-clear transition is the identifying finish of this variant, rather than fully clear or uniformly smoky glass.
