Thoro ASTRO TH.976 is a white LED wall light with a small metal disc set in front of a larger transparent acrylic disc. The wall remains visible through the outer element, rather than being concealed by a conventional opaque shade. This is the integrated-LED version with a colour temperature of 3000 K.
A circular footprint and an 8.5 cm projection
The outer disc measures 28 cm in diameter, while the part against the wall measures 10 cm. The manufacturer's drawing gives an overall projection of 8.5 cm. When choosing its position, compare both the available wall width and the distance from furniture or an opening door. Allow for a round composition rather than the narrow strip occupied by a linear wall light.
The transparent acrylic does not cover the background with a solid surface. Its edge, reflections and white centre remain visible when the light is off. This makes the wall colour and texture part of the composition, something worth considering before settling on a mounting position.
Warm white light with the source included
The LED source is included, so there is no separate screw-base bulb to select. Thoro specifies a maximum power of 7.5 W and a luminous flux of 1070 lm. The 3000 K rating identifies the warm white colour of this version; it does not mean that the colour temperature can be adjusted. Exact white-variant photographs show light around the central disc and across the wall behind it.
Marta Foit's design for wall compositions
ASTRO was designed by Marta Foit. Steel, acrylic and restrained circular geometry support its contemporary, minimalist character. The manufacturer identifies living rooms, bedrooms, corridors and lounge areas as applications. Use it as a single accent or a repeated wall motif, rather than as a directional reading lamp. The installation drawing shows a wall bracket and L and N wiring connections made with the power switched off.
