Thoro BISCUIT TH.691 is a small aluminium table lamp in red ochre. A curved cover with rounded edges sits above a cylindrical base, giving it a sculptural outline rather than the long arm of a conventional desk light. Its matt, single-colour finish keeps attention on the folded shape of the metal.
Allow for the cover, not just the base
The lamp is 15 cm high, 12 cm wide and 13 cm long. Although the base is only 6 cm in diameter, the upper cover extends beyond it. On a narrow shelf or bedside table, check the full footprint before deciding how much space remains for a book or other objects.
A black 180 cm cable connects the lamp to the mains, with an on/off switch on the cable. Check the route to the socket and keep the switch accessible once everything is arranged. The specified supply is 230 V: this is not a cordless lamp that can be placed without considering a power outlet.
Included LED light in warm white
The LED light source is included. Thoro specifies 6 W, a luminous flux of 755 lm and a colour temperature of 3000 K. That temperature describes a warm white appearance, not a choice of switchable light colours. A colour rendering index of CRI 93 adds useful information when comparing lamps for displaying coloured objects.
The illuminated product photographs show light falling onto the inside of the cover. When placing it beside a book or bed, orient the open side with the viewing position in mind. Its low body is different from a tall task lamp with an arm extending over a large work surface.
A compact accent for contemporary spaces
The manufacturer identifies desks, bedside positions, living-room chests and shelves as uses. The plain cylindrical support and single curved metal cover suit modern, minimalist interiors where the outline of one object can stand out. Red ochre and the contrasting black lead remain part of the arrangement when the light is switched off.
