Trio GILLAN 814500207 wall and ceiling spotlight, 2×GU10, matt nickel and white

Trio GILLAN 814500207 combines two cylindrical spot heads with an elongated matt-white mounting base. The heads have a matt nickel finish, creating a restrained contrast rather than an all-silver fitting. This metal spotlight is approved by the manufacturer for both wall and ceiling mounting.

Two heads with separate directions

The movable heads let you change where each bulb points. Both beams need not follow the same line: one can pick out a feature while the other addresses an adjacent surface. This makes GILLAN a different choice from a wall light with fixed shades. Adjustment is illustrated in the installation instructions, but no angular range is stated, so unrestricted rotation should not be assumed.

The manufacturer specifically suggests bedroom ceiling lighting and accent lighting in a living room. Its directional format also suits supplementary lighting in a hallway, corridor or study. Whether it can provide all the light a room needs depends on the selected bulbs and the room layout; two sockets alone do not establish adequate brightness.

Choose two GU10 bulbs separately

Light sources are not supplied. The fitting takes two GU10 bulbs, each rated at no more than 10 W, and the manufacturer recommends LED bulbs. Colour temperature, lumen output and beam angle are therefore choices you make when buying the lamps. A narrower or wider beam will produce a different result, rather than a single factory-fixed lighting effect. The wattage figure is a limit for each socket, not a brightness rating for the complete fitting.

Allow space for the base and adjustment

The published dimensions are 30 cm wide, 16 cm high and 12 cm deep. Compare these measurements with the available mounting area and leave room to aim the heads. The simple cylinders and two-tone finish work with modern and minimalist interiors without decorative scrollwork. GILLAN operates on 230 V and is a Class I fitting, requiring a protective-earth connection as shown in the instructions. Its IP20 rating provides no water protection, so it is not a choice for splash-exposed locations.
