Aivian is a three-arm chandelier by Kichler, distributed by Elstead Lighting. The steel frame has a Weathered Brass finish, and each of the three right-angled arms ends in a clear glass shade shaped like a slightly flared bell. The manufacturer describes its build as industrial.
Size and hanging height
The chandelier itself measures 57.4 cm across and 32.8 cm high. It hangs on rigid rods rather than a chain: one 15.2 cm rod and three 30.5 cm rods are supplied, and the overall drop can be set anywhere from 41.8 to 148.4 cm. Over a table the drop is usually set so the bottom of the shades sits 70–80 cm above the top — compare the 57 cm diameter with the width of your own table.
The round ceiling canopy is 13.3 cm across, and the whole fitting weighs 2.9 kg. The manufacturer also allows it to be converted to a semi-flush fitting mounted close to the ceiling, which helps in a room with a lower ceiling.
Bulbs and light
Each arm has an E27 socket for a bulb of up to 60 W, three in total. Bulbs are not included. The shades are clear, so the bulb stays fully visible — the manufacturer's recommended accessory is a clear, dimmable Litec E27 A60 LED lamp at 3000 K, a warm white, sold separately.
The fitting works with dimmable bulbs: dimming needs a dimmer in the wiring and bulbs marked as dimmable. It is protection class I, so it must be connected to a protective earth conductor.
Where it fits
Plain right-angled arms and bare bulbs in glass bells are hallmarks of industrial style, softened here by the warm tone of weathered brass. The chandelier is intended for hanging over a dining table, in a hallway and in hotel interiors. The Aivian range also includes a five-arm version, a single pendant and a wall light in the same finish.
