The Asker Pole 5127GR is an L-shaped garden lantern: a straight 236 cm post made of graphite aluminium profile (RAL 7016), topped with a horizontal arm that holds a downward-facing LED luminaire. The post is a single piece and bolts to the ground through a square base plate.
Dimensions and installation
The arm reaches out 39 cm, the post profile is 11 cm wide and the base plate measures 24 × 24 cm. The plate has four Ø12 mm holes at 200 × 200 mm spacing. Anchors are not included: Norlys sells a ground anchor (117GA0009) and a concreting anchor (116ZX0009) separately, so the fixing method has to be chosen before the ground is prepared. The lantern weighs 11 kg and its box is 240 cm long, which is worth knowing when the delivery arrives.
The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and allow the supply to be looped on to the next luminaire, so several lanterns along a path can run on one circuit. The supply cable must be round, with a diameter of up to 12.5 mm. This is a class I luminaire, so it needs a protective earth conductor, and the manufacturer specifies installation by a licensed electrician.
How much light it gives
The light comes from two integrated LED modules drawing 18 W in total. The modules themselves produce 1778 lm, and 1100 lm leaves the luminaire — that is the figure to compare with other lanterns, because it already accounts for losses in the diffuser. At 4000 K the light is neutral white, and CRI 80 renders plants and paving without noticeable colour shifts.
The light is single-sided, symmetrical and directed downward; the manufacturer states a ULOR of 0%, meaning no light is sent above the horizontal into the sky. The lantern can be dimmed with a phase dimmer (TRIAC), trailing or leading edge. The LED modules are replaceable, but only by a qualified person; Norlys lists the LED module, the gasket and a diffuser service kit as spare parts.
Build and operating conditions
The post is extruded aluminium with a powder-coated finish, the diffuser is clear structured polycarbonate stabilised against UV, and a silicone gasket seals the housing. IP65 means the luminaire is dust-tight and protected against water jets, so it stands outdoors without any cover. IK10 is the highest grade on the impact-resistance scale, which matters on publicly accessible paths. The rated operating range is −20 to +45 °C.
The plain rectangular form without ornament suits modern and modernist architecture. The Asker Pole is intended for garden paths, parks and the grounds in front of hotels or restaurants.
