Bradbury is a flush ceiling light by Quoizel, supplied by Elstead Lighting, for two E27 bulbs. Twisted steel ribbons drop from a shallow steel canopy and form an open cage around the exposed bulbs. The Grey Ash finish is a dark ashy grey with a fine speckled texture that shows up close on every ribbon.
Size and installation
The fitting is 33 cm in diameter and 13.9 cm high and mounts directly to the ceiling. In a low room that matters: the lower edge ends just under 14 cm below the ceiling, so it takes no headroom the way a pendant does. It weighs 1.35 kg.
It is protection class I, so it is connected with an earth conductor — the ceiling box needs an earth wire. It runs on 220–240 V mains.
Light sources
The light takes two E27 bulbs of up to 60 W each. Bulbs are not included. The open cage does not hide them, so their shape and colour are part of the look — a clear filament bulb sets off the dark frame, while a frosted one reduces glare when you look up. Two LED bulbs of about 800 lm each give roughly the output of two old 60 W bulbs, enough for general lighting in a bedroom.
The fitting is compatible with dimmable bulbs: with a wall dimmer and dimmable lamps the brightness can be lowered, for instance in the evening.
Style and use
The fluted, twisted ribbons and the aged, speckled finish give the light a classic character. Bradbury is for indoor use — in a bedroom or dining room, where a flat ceiling light stands in for a pendant under a lower ceiling. The range also includes an Antique White version plus pendants and wall lights, so the same pattern can run through several rooms.
