Bradbury is a five-light candle chandelier with an open, cage-like frame of bent steel rods and twisted ribbons. Five candle sleeves with drip cups stand on a ring halfway up, and the whole fitting hangs on a chain. The steel is finished in a dark Grey Ash with a slightly rough texture. The design comes from the American brand Quoizel and is distributed in Europe by Elstead Lighting.
Size and hanging height
The chandelier is 60.8 cm tall and 63.6 cm in diameter — compare the diameter with the width of the table or open space it will hang above. 130 cm of chain is included, and the overall drop can be set anywhere from 68.8 to 200.8 cm.
Above a table, the bottom of a fitting usually hangs 70–80 cm over the top. To work out the drop you need, subtract the table height (about 75 cm) and that gap from the room height. The fitting weighs 3.4 kg.
Bulbs and light
The chandelier has five E14 lampholders for bulbs of up to 40 W each. No bulbs are supplied. The distributor recommends the clear Litec E14 LED candle for this fitting, rated 4 W, 400 lm and 3000 K — five of them give 2000 lm of warm white light together, a level suited to main lighting. The candles are exposed, so the bulb shape is on show and a candle bulb looks the part.
The fitting can be dimmed when the bulbs are marked as dimmable and a suitable dimmer is used. It is protection class I, so it must be connected to an earth conductor, and it is intended for indoor use.
Which interiors it suits
Candles on a ring inside an openwork cage of curved ribbons make this a classic chandelier form, and the dark matt finish gives it the look of wrought metal. It is intended for use above a dining table, in a hallway and in hotel interiors.
