The large Corinne is a pendant shaped as an open orb of several intersecting steel rings. Inside, six candle-style holders stand on a central hub and appear to float in the middle of the frame. Everything is finished in burnished brass — a warm, bright metal with a soft sheen. The design comes from the American brand Feiss (Generation Lighting) and is distributed in Europe by Elstead Lighting.
How big it is and where to hang it
The orb is 62.2 cm in diameter and 70.8 cm tall — a size to compare with the width of your table or the free space under the ceiling. It hangs on a 152.4 cm chain, and the overall drop is set during installation anywhere between 86.4 and 234.3 cm. Over a dining table the lower edge of the fitting usually sits 70–80 cm above the top.
The fitting weighs 4.23 kg, so it needs a secure fixing point; in a plasterboard ceiling it is fixed to the supporting structure.
How much light it gives
There are six E14 sockets, each rated for a bulb of up to 60 W. No bulbs are supplied, so you will need to buy six. The holders have no shades and the bulbs stay on view, so their shape is part of the look — candle bulbs suit the candle-style holders. The fitting is compatible with dimmable bulbs; dimming needs such bulbs and a dimmer.
Construction
The rings, hub and ceiling canopy are steel and share the same burnished brass finish. The fitting is protection class I and must be connected to the earth conductor. The Corinne family also includes smaller three-light versions and polished nickel variants.
