Galena is a small wall lantern by Feiss (Generation Lighting), distributed in Europe by Elstead Lighting. It has the classic lantern shape that narrows towards the base, with a roof and a ring on top, mounted on a flat back plate. The stainless steel body is finished in Sable — a dark brown with a slightly flecked, matt texture — and the panes are clear seeded glass with small air bubbles.
Size and outdoor installation
The lantern is 28.6 cm high, 15.2 cm wide and projects 17.5 cm from the wall. As the small version it suits spots by a door where space is tight — compare the figures with the gap between the door frame and a downpipe or corner.
The manufacturer specifies it for outdoor installation. The IP44 rating means protection against splashing water from any direction. It is Class I, so it must be connected to an earth conductor, and it weighs 1.2 kg. For mounting on the corner of a building the manufacturer offers separately sold corner brackets C-BKT2-BROWN and C-BKT2-BLACK — without them the flat back plate needs an even wall.
Bulb and light
The lantern has one E27 lampholder for a bulb of up to 60 W. The bulb is not included. The seeded glass is clear, so the bulb stays visible from outside — its shape and colour become part of how the lantern looks, so it is worth choosing it for looks too, for example a decorative filament bulb. The fitting can be dimmed with a bulb marked as dimmable.
Where to hang it
According to the manufacturer, Galena pairs a simple, light construction with the classic lantern form. It suits an entrance facade, a balcony and the garden, as well as the entrances of hotels and restaurants.
