Garden lantern London Big 491WH white 1 x E27 on pole 191–279 cm - Norlys

London Big 491WH is a garden lantern in classic English style: a single square lantern with a pitched cap on top of a telescopic pole with a decorative crossbar and a flared base. It is made of cast aluminium powder-coated white (RAL 9003), and the lantern panes are clear UV-stabilised polycarbonate.

How tall it is and what the set includes

The pole is telescopic, so the overall height adjusts between 191 and 279 cm – lower beside a terrace or a flower bed, higher along a path people walk on. The lantern head is 32 cm wide and the complete set weighs 10.05 kg.

The set consists of two Norlys articles: the lantern fitting (4012) and the pole (3010). The base is bolted down through three ø10.5 mm holes set 120° apart on a ø240 mm circle, so it needs a surface or foundation it can be bolted to. The concrete foundation (7668), the concrete-in anchor (305), the ground anchor (306) and the adapters (108, 6010) are separate articles that have to be bought in addition.

Bulb and light

The lantern has an E27 socket for an LED bulb of up to 11 W, A55–A60 in shape and up to 110 mm long. The bulb is not included and is changed by the user, so you choose the colour and brightness of the light when you buy the bulb. The panes are clear and the bulb stays visible, which makes its shape part of how the lantern looks.

The manufacturer sells the lampshade as a separate spare part (service kit 0904800051), so a cracked pane does not mean replacing the whole fitting.

Wiring and where to install it

The terminals take conductors up to 4 × 2.5 mm² and allow looping the supply through to the next lantern, so several lanterns along a path can run from one line. The fitting is protection class II – double-insulated – and needs no protective earth conductor.

IP54 protects it against rain and splashing water, and IK07 impact resistance lets it stand where people walk past. The manufacturer designed it for gardens and parks; it also suits a terrace or the entrance to a hotel or restaurant. The London Big series also includes versions with two (492) and three (495) lanterns, and the black 491BL.
