CERRO is a vertical wall light in the form of a slim bar: a matt black profile 80 cm tall, only 5 cm wide and 4.2 cm deep. A narrow line of light runs the whole length of its front edge, closed by a silicone diffuser.

A line, not a patch

The entire optic of this fitting comes down to that one slot. Instead of lighting a section of wall with a patch, CERRO draws a continuous, sharply defined 80 cm line on it – an effect closer to an architectural element than to a lamp. That is why fittings like this are set in pairs beside a mirror, at an entrance door, or in a rhythm along a corridor: they work as vertical accents in the composition of a wall.

The silicone diffuser is the key part. At this narrow a section silicone diffuses the diodes better than acrylic, and it is flexible, so the slot reads as evenly lit along its whole length, with no visible LED points and no dark breaks at the ends.

Why 41 lumens per watt is normal here

The module is 29 W and delivers 1200 lumens, about 41 lm/W. In a general-purpose fitting that would be a poor figure; here it follows from the geometry. Light leaves the fitting through a band a few millimetres wide – the rest of the flux stays inside the profile. What that loss buys is exactly the reason to choose a fitting like this: no glare and a clean, narrow line of light, which no wide-aperture luminaire can produce.

3000 K and an integrated source

3000 K is warm white – against a matt black body it gives a contrast that does not jar: the line is distinct but not cold. The LED source is permanently integrated and supplied; there is no socket and no lamp to change, which at this slot width is the only possible construction. The fitting is not dimmable.

Build and installation

The construction combines steel, aluminium and silicone: steel gives an 80 cm profile its rigidity, aluminium carries heat away from the diodes, silicone forms the light slot. The finish is matt black, so the body does not mirror light from neighbouring fittings and does not show fingerprints the way gloss lacquer does.

Mounting is on the surface, supply 230 V. IP20 confines the fitting strictly to dry interiors – in a bathroom it belongs outside the protection zones at most. Net weight is 1 kg.
