Lucide EXTRAVAGANZA CHIMP is a wall light built around a chimpanzee figure holding the cable in one hand and the bulb holder in the other. Its textured gold-coloured body contrasts with the black cable and round wall mount. The figure is made from synthetic material, while the mounting plate is metal.
The exposed bulb shapes the result
The E27 holder leaves the light source visible. Bulb shape and filament appearance therefore contribute to the design when the light is both on and off. No bulb is supplied, so choose one separately without exceeding the 60 W maximum rating. The manufacturer also confirms suitability for an LED bulb.
Light colour and brightness depend on the chosen bulb rather than the animal figure. If you want adjustable brightness, you will need a dimmable bulb and a compatible dimmer, which is also not supplied. Choosing a bulb labelled dimmable does not provide brightness control without the corresponding control equipment.
Check the wall space and connection
The overall height is 48.5 cm, with the other overall dimensions measuring 17.6 and 14 cm. The circular mounting plate is 10 cm in diameter and 2 cm thick. Compare these measurements with the available wall area and the position of the electrical supply before installation. This version is not height-adjustable.
The fitting is intended for indoor use on a 230 V supply. Its Class I construction requires an earth connection. Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician following the manual; the manufacturer lists installation materials among the supplied contents.
An animal motif rather than a neutral fitting
The sculptural silhouette and gold finish give it a retro character, while also allowing a deliberate contrast in a contemporary living room, bedroom or hallway. Treat it as decorative wall lighting rather than a directional task lamp. Despite its playful appearance, it is not a toy: the manufacturer specifically warns against allowing children to play with the fitting.
