Modena Big 381BG is an outdoor wall light shaped as a classic six-sided lantern that hangs beneath a wall arm supported by a decorative brace. A slender spire tops the lantern roof and a turned finial closes it underneath. The cast-aluminium body is finished in black with green patina – a dark base with greenish wear along the edges.
How big it is and how it mounts
The light is 70 cm tall and holds the lantern 47 cm out from the wall, while the mounting plate is 23 cm high. Compare these figures with the space by your door: a fitting that projects almost half a metre needs clearance that an open door leaf or a downpipe will not take up.
The plate is fixed through four ø5 mm holes spaced 25 × 140 mm. The terminals take wires up to 2 × 2.5 mm², and the gland takes a round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. For mounting on a building corner Norlys offers corner bracket 152, sold separately.
Which light source it takes
The fitting has an E27 socket for an A55–A60 shaped bulb, LED up to 9 W. No bulb is included, so you choose the colour and brightness yourself – an LED bulb of about 800 lm gives as much light as an old 60 W bulb. The bulb is visible through the clear panes, so its shape affects how the lantern looks. The user replaces the bulb without calling a technician.
Built for outdoor use
IP54 means protection against dust and splashing water from any direction, so the light can hang on an exposed façade. Protection class II means double insulation – no earth conductor is needed. The panes are clear UV-stabilised polycarbonate, and the manufacturer gives an operating range of −20 to +45°C. A damaged shade can be ordered as service kit 06380004.
A lantern on a curved arm is a classic form, intended for façades and for lighting an entrance or a garden.
