NORLYS Namsos Mini 1359CS rust-coloured recessed LED wall light

NORLYS Namsos Mini 1359CS is a recessed LED wall light with a square face and a louvred opening. The CS version has a rust-coloured finish described by the manufacturer as corten steel, approximately RAL 8011. This identifies the colour rather than the body material: the housing is powder-coated cast aluminium, with a satin-finished safety-glass cover.

Local lighting below the fitting

The louvres direct diffused light downwards. Its integrated module produces warm white light at 2700 K, while the complete luminaire delivers 49 lm. Use that figure when considering the light reaching the area below the fitting. The separate 390 lm figure refers to the source itself, not the output leaving the finished housing. Namsos Mini is intended for local illumination of steps and circulation routes rather than as a replacement for general lighting across an entire property.

A plain square border and regularly spaced louvres give the fitting a restrained modern appearance that also suits Scandinavian architecture. Once recessed, it presents a small wall face instead of the projecting arm of a conventional wall lamp.

Allow for the recess before installation

The fitting measures 11 × 11 × 10 cm. The manufacturer specifies a 105 × 105 × 110 mm opening for installation in a wall and describes a separate arrangement for layered wall construction. Check the actual wall build-up against the installation instructions before making the recess; the faceplate dimensions alone do not define the space required. A mounting template is supplied to help prepare the installation.

Supply, dimming and source replacement

Power consumption is 4.1 W on a 220–240 V supply. Both trailing-edge and leading-edge phase dimming are supported, so the control must suit that technology. The LED module is integrated; its replacement is assigned to professional service rather than a routine user bulb change. The fitting is rated IP65 and IK10. Preserving the seal matters during installation: the instructions specify round cable of 7–10.5 mm diameter and warn against piercing the gasket with tools.
